Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist
The Heart and Vascular Center and the Department of Medicine of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth are seeking an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to join our team.
Candidates should have clinical proficiency and Board Certification or Eligibility in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. The hired candidate will join the physicians and APPs of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy team at DHMC and will have the option to attend 2-4 weeks per year at Tufts Medical Center, our partner transplant center. They will also play an essential role in the Cardiogenic Shock team and Multidisciplinary Cardiomyopathy program, working alongside colleagues in Structural and Interventional Cardiology, Genetics, Electrophysiology, and Advanced Imaging. Additionally, they will provide longitudinal care to patients post-transplant and LVAD implantation. They will play a pivotal role in ongoing growth of Advanced Heart Failure at Dartmouth, including development of a destination LVAD program.
Additional responsibilities include an active role in the cardiac intensive care unit and inpatient services, outpatient medicine, teaching, and research. The successful candidate will join an academic practice with approximately 40 full-time cardiologists as well as clinical and research fellows.
The Heart and Vascular Center has a robust research portfolio focused on clinical and population health supported by funding from the NIH/NHLBI, the American Heart Association, and other foundations, and is engaged in numerous clinical trials. The research program is supported by expert mentors, training programs, and dedicated administrative, technical, and analytic resources. We have collaborative ties with the Geisel School of Medicine and the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI). Accordingly, the candidate is expected to engage in academic activities, including research and mentoring of learners, such as cardiovascular fellows, house staff, and students from the Geisel School of Medicine. This position holds an academic title at Geisel School of Medicine commensurate with experience and academic portfolio. An adjunct appointment at Tufts Medical School is also available if the candidate chooses to attend on the cardiomyopathy/cardiac transplant service there.
