Palliative Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

The Section of Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center seeks an energetic, team-focused, palliative care APP to join our interdisciplinary Palliative Care Service. Our team is comprised of Palliative Medicine physicians, APPs, coordinating RNs, chaplains, social workers, and healing arts. You will join an established and nationally recognized team committed to promoting excellence and innovation in clinical care, education, and research.  Many of our faculty have completed Faculty Development Training and teach communication that focuses on building progressive skills with a learner-centric and interactive approach, based on VitalTalk principles. This position will practice at the academic medical center in Lebanon, NH.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will include inpatient or outpatient consultations and follow-ups
  • Core Faculty member for our Interprofessional Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship
  • All APPs at this location will carry a 10% teaching responsibility and will receive an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine at a rank based on education, training, and experience.  

     

     

     

     

Qualifications

  • Board-certification by appropriate accrediting body to practice as an APRN or Physician Assistant is required.

  • The ideal candidate will have completed advanced practice fellowship training in palliative care, OR will have at least 2+ years of experience practicing in palliative care.

  • Discipline specific Advanced Practice Palliative Care Certification or be eligible for certification within one year.

  • Eligible for NH and VT licenses and DEA  

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
