Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join our practice in the beautiful Upper Valley of New Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, robust perinatal practice embedded in an academic OB/GYN department. The physician will be eligible for academic appointment at Geisel School of Medicine. This position is a 1.0 FTE.

Our MFM division consists of six board-certified MFM physicians. MFM works closely with our Academic Generalist Division, the Midwifery team, board-certified genetic counselors, and Complex Family Planning to deliver high quality perinatal care. We average roughly 1,400 deliveries a year at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and coordinate maternal transports throughout Northern New England. We also provide consultative care at a number of community group practices that are part of the Dartmouth Health (DH) system (Bedford, Nashua, Keene, Southern Vermont Medical Center, and Concord) as well as other non-DH practices.

In this role, the physician will provide care to high-risk obstetrical patients in the outpatient, inpatient, and labor and delivery settings. Care is provided both in person and via tele-health. We are a large tertiary-care hospital and academic medical center, and responsibilities will include teaching residents and medical students and engaging in research or advocacy. Our community has a diverse patient population, and we have a robust team set up to work with patients struggling with various social determinants of health.

Dartmouth Health is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive group of faculty, staff, and trainees to meet the needs of our patient populations. We are especially interested in applicants who are able to work effectively with and care for individuals from all backgrounds. We invite applicants to state in their cover letter how their research, service, teaching, and/or life experiences prepare them to advance Dartmouth Health’s commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Dartmouth Health system stretches over New Hampshire and Vermont and offers the quintessential New England experience. With no income tax or sales tax, this beautiful area combines history, industry and business and has been ranked consistently as one of the best places in the US to live and work. Anchored by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, the system includes the NCI-designated Dartmouth Cancer Center, a leading children’s hospital, 4 affiliated hospitals, and 30 Dartmouth Health ambulatory clinics across the region. With destinations like Boston, New York, the seacoast, and ski country within driving distance, the opportunities – both career and personal – make New Hampshire the ideal place to work and play.
