General Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (FT) Lebanon
The Heart and Vascular Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is seeking a motivated Advanced Practicing Provider (APRN or PA), with a strong interest and background in general cardiology preferably with two years of experience but willing to train the right motivated and dedicated new grad or someone with relevant RN experience. The candidate would be joining a diverse Section comprised of both physicians and APPs, with the opportunity to collaborate with innovative cardiology subspecialties such as the Electrophysiology team, Heart Failure and Pulmonary HTN team, and the Interventional and Structural Heart teams.
The APP would be dedicated to both inpatient and ambulatory clinical settings, helping to provide and coordinate high quality care and education to cardiac patients and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team and with the support of a staff cardiologist. The candidate would be able to effectively collaborate with and communicate well with all members of the treatment team in management of cardiac patients. This position allows a variety of responsibilities, including the assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex and acute cardiac conditions, triaging of cardiac patients at community hospitals for transfer to our tertiary care center, as well as management of chronic cardiac conditions. The individual selected will act as a patient advocate, assuring that all aspects of the patients' and families' needs are met and fragmentation of care is prevented.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the scope of practice includes a teaching role and participation in quality improvement activities. As the home to the Dartmouth Institute and Geisel School of Medicine, opportunities for academic appointment and advancement are rich for motivated providers.
Primary hours are between 7 AM - 5:30 PM with some flexibility depending on the role/responsibility of the day. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Minimum weekend coverage is approximately once every four weeks.
