Valley Regional Hospital – Claremont, NH

 

Dartmouth Health (DH) is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon for Valley Regional Hospital (VRH), a critical access hospital in Claremont, NH, which is located in the scenic, rural Upper Valley of New Hampshire. This position is part of a Community General Surgery program that includes Mt. Ascutney Hospital (MAH) in Windsor, VT, New London Hospital (NLH) in New London, NH, Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH, and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH. This program allows for collegiality among surgeons in similar positions for support and academia.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a commitment to student and resident education, and a passion for rural surgery. Basic laparoscopic and endoscopic skills are essential. Robotic surgery is also an option.  Excellence in communication and a track record of impeccable professionalism are of paramount importance.

 

Academic appointments commensurate with experience will be awarded by the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Clinical practice will be focused at Valley Regional Hospital where medical students and residents may rotate. Engagement in academic and didactic opportunities at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is strongly encouraged.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery. Candidates must have completed or will soon complete training in General Surgery in an ACGME-accredited residency
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the state of New Hampshire
