Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce a national search for the next Chief Medical Officer of Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

 

Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD) is seeking a collaborative leader who can promote partnerships and communication across the all professionals within the organization and health system. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering the highest quality care and holding providers accountable to the policies and procedures that support this goal. A track record of accomplishing big goals and establishing critical trust within provider teams is vital.

 

About Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital:

Founded in 1932, APD is a non-profit, community-based healthcare organization with a mission to improve the health and well-being of our community. APD has a strong reputation for personalized attention and provides patient centered care to more than 15,000 patients per year. Long known for primary care, APD also specializes in short-stay ambulatory surgery and other healthcare specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, integrative medicine, and a pain and psychiatry clinic.

 

Today, APD employs more than 500 staff members. Its campus includes a 25-bed critical access hospital with inpatient care and emergency services; a 10-bed Surgical Short Stay unit, an outpatient Multi-Specialty Clinic; and APD Lifecare, a non-profit senior living community with two facilities that supports more than 150 residents in assisted and independent living.

About the job:
Reporting to the president and CEO and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Medical Officer is responsible for the quality of clinical practice in all departments of the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient. The CMO provides leadership to the Medical Staff and is the primary liaison between the Medical Staff, the administration, and the Board of Trustees.

In this 1.0 FTE role, a minimum of 0.2 FTE will be devoted to clinical practice in the CMO’s specialty area.

 

The CMO of APD also serves as the Chair for the Department of Telemedicine, reviews telemedicine applicants, and works with the Medical Director of Dartmouth Health Connected Care and Telemedicine to oversee the proxy credentialing process. Additionally, the CMO serves as the Medical Director of Infusion Services for the Multispecialty Clinic, reviewing orders and Treatment Plans and serves as a resource to the Multispecialty Clinic practice managers and infusion nursing team.

 

Minimum qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess an MD or DO degree and American Board Certification in their specialty. Education at the master’s level in health administration, public health, medical management, or business is preferred.

 

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years in clinical practice and a reputation as an excellent physician. A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare leadership is also required. Experience in a non-profit organization and critical access hospital environment is preferred.
