Dartmouth Health Cheshire Medical Center seeks a collaborative, clinically credible physician leader to serve as Medical Director for Dartmouth Cancer Center at Cheshire Medical Center. This leader will advance high-quality, patient-centered cancer care for the Monadnock Region while strengthening Cheshire’s community-based cancer program and its connection to the broader clinical, academic, and research resources of Dartmouth Cancer Center.
Cheshire Medical Center is a nonprofit community medical center in Keene, New Hampshire, and a member of Dartmouth Health, the state’s only academic health system. As Cheshire County’s only hospital and a major hub for the Monadnock Region, Cheshire provides comprehensive primary, specialty, surgical, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, population health, and chronic disease management services.
Through Dartmouth Cancer Center at Cheshire, patients receive coordinated cancer care close to home with access to subspecialty expertise, clinical trials, research infrastructure, and advanced resources through Dartmouth Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Working within a triad leadership model, the Medical Director will provide physician leadership for cancer services at Cheshire, overseeing clinical quality, care coordination, provider engagement, access, operational performance, and alignment with Dartmouth Cancer Center standards and strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will be a visible, approachable, team-oriented physician leader who maintains a clinical presence and builds credibility with providers, staff, patients, and community partners. This leader will promote accountability, collaboration, quality, service, and continuous improvement while expanding access, strengthening referral relationships, supporting clinical trial participation, and ensuring patients benefit from both local care and Dartmouth Cancer Center’s academic cancer expertise.
Qualified candidates will hold an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME-accredited Hematology/Oncology fellowship, and be board certified. The ideal candidate will bring clinical excellence, sound judgment, operational discipline, strong communication skills, and a commitment to advancing community-based cancer care within an academic health system.
